The Holy Spirit - The Helper

Holy Spirit - Equipping and Empowering believers to manifest the Glory of God

In Hebrew the Holy Spirit is the Ruach HaKodesh called the "Helper" or "Comforter," indicating His personal involvement in our daily situations. The prophet Joel prophesied that in the last days, the Spirit would be poured upon all flesh, young and old, male and female, rich and poor, everyone can experience the outpouring of the Spirit. He will equip us to follow the will of God and make His gifts available to us. He gives us the ability to tap into the unlimited power of God on earth and cause us to have access to His divine counsel and function well in His plan. As the believers Helper:

He speaks to us:

“The Spirit of the Lord spoke in and by me, and His word was upon my tongue.”

2 Samuel 23:2 AMPC

“Then the [Holy] Spirit said to Philip, Go forward and join yourself to this chariot.”

Acts 8:29 AMPC

“He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat [of the fruit] of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7 AMPC

He prays on our behalf

“So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.” Romans 8:26 AMPC

'praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— ' Ephesians 6:18

He guides us

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” Romans 8:14 AMPC

“But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].” John 16:13 AMPC

'But He made His own people go forth like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock; And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.' Psalms 78:52-53

He calls and commissions

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Separate now for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Acts 13:2 AMPC

“Take care and be on guard for yourselves and the whole flock over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you bishops and guardians, to shepherd (tend and feed and guide) the church of the Lord or of God which He obtained for Himself [buying it and saving it for Himself] with His own blood.” Acts 20:28 AMPC
